Croft rounds July 2002

Yet again Collardracing were unable to compete in the latest round of the BTCC due to engine failure.

The Clio barely managed to complete the practice sessions on Saturday before the new IES engine blew up. The team battled to get the old engine fitted before the start of the qualifying, and Rob managed a few laps in the first session. He came in during the neutral period reporting a misfire. Unfortunatley this could not be fixed in time for the 2nd qualifying. The team was hopeful to start the race the following day, even at the back of the grid, but the misfire could not be cured.

After Deborah, Collardracing Team Manager, withdrew the car, Rob said;

"All we want to do is race, if the engine would hold together I know we would win. We are going to take a good look at the engine situation and get it sorted."
